Angelina Abadjieva - violin

Biography

Violinist Angelina Abadjieva was born in the Bulgarian town of Shumen.

She received her first violin lessons at the Bulgarian State Conservatory with Tatyana Angelova. Two years later she won a first prize in the competition "Obretenov" and a first and special prize at the International Competition "Kocian" / Czech Republic.

At the age of 13 she entered in the class of prof. Boyan Lechev .

In 1982 she won the first prize at the Bulgarian national competition for singers and instrumentalists. As a laureate she toured as a soloist with all the Bulgarian orchestras and with conductors as Konstantin Iliev, Dobrin Petkov and Emil Tabakov.Angelina was a laureate of  the famous "Paganini" competition.

A little later Angelina went to study in  Germany with prof. Ulrike Diyrik .

As a student in Germany she won the first prize in the competition "Gizeking" in Saarbrücken.

Later Angelina  worked as a concertmaster in the theater of Mainz and the Cologne Radio Orchestra where she works and lives today.

Angelina gives concerts in different countries as a soloist and with various chamber ensembles.
