Jeroen Soors - oboe
Oboist Jeroen Soors (1984) completed his musical education at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp under Luk Nielandt. Later, with the help of Erasmus and Rotary scholarships, he further specialized with Thomas Indermühle in Karlsruhe and with Jacques Tys and David Walter in Paris.
As a student, he was a member of the European Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, with which he performed concerts in the most renowned concert halls in Europe, Asia, and South America.
As a chamber musician, he performed at various festivals, such as the Zermatt Music Festival and the Aurora Chamber Music Festival. After being accepted as principal oboist at Het Gelders Orkest in Arnhem (2008), the Radio Kamer Filharmonie in Hilversum (2010), and the Residentie Orkest in The Hague, he was appointed principal oboist in Amsterdam with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra in 2016.
Since September 2017, he has been affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of The Hague as a teacher.
