Viktor Traykov - cello

Viktor Traykov graduated from the National Music School "Lyubomir Pipkov" as well as the National Music Academy "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, Bulgaria, in the cello class of Ani Atanasova.

He has a master's degree at the New Bulgarian University in the class of Hristo Tanev. Participated in the master classes of: Robert Cohen, Christoph Richter, Stefan Popov and others.

He is a laureate at the International Cello Competition "Heran" in Usti nad Orlici, Czech Republic, as well as at the "Young Musical Talents" competition in Sofia.

Viktor has extensive experience in the field of chamber music, as a member of the string quartet "Frosh" he won the First Prize in the Austrian Music Competition, held in 2012 at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia.

Since 2013, he has been a member of the Artes Piano Trio, with which he performs numerous concerts in Bulgaria and abroad.

Co-founder and member of the cello quartet "Underground Cello Quartet", with which he performs regularly on the Bulgarian music scene.

Viktor Traykov is a solo cellist in the chamber orchestra Drop Down Community, with whom he regularly performs in Bulgaria and abroad.

He has extensive experience as a solo cellist in the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio, Classic FM Orchestra, New Symphony Orchestra, as well as in the international orchestra Philharmonie der Nationen (Germany).

Since 2017, he regularly participates in the concert seasons of the Würth Philharmonic (Germany), where he works with musicians such as Maxim Vengerov, Vadim Repin, Julian Rachlin, Misha Maisky, Gauthier Kapuson, Nelson Freire, Mikhail Yurovsky, Kent Nagano, and others.

Since 2019, he has been a guest cellist in some of the programs of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, working with musicians such as Paavo Järvi, Christian Tetzlaff, Janin Jansen, Alena Baeva, Simone Lamsma, Nicola Benedetti, etc
